Employee communications platform Beekeeper has topped up its Series B funding with an additional $10 million.
The extra investment brings the total for the round to $60 million, following the original injection and a $5 million top-up in February.
Beekeeper's Series B round was originally announced as $45 million in September 2019.
The additional investment was led by Energize Ventures, with HighSage Ventures, SwissCanto, Thayer, Swisscom, Investiere, Alpana Ventures and Swiss Post also contributing.
Beekeeper says the funding will go towards expanding its cloud-based apps marketplace and launching Beekeeper 2.0, a new version of its product.
Christian Grossmann, Beekeeper co-founder and CEO, says the funding will enable the company to grow faster and connect more frontline workers in hotels.
“We take it as a tremendous vote of confidence that we have this type of backing in the current economic environment. We are using this opportunity to invest in innovation and expand our feature set to make our customers’ work lives easier, safer and more enjoyable.”
Juan Muldoon, partner at Energize Ventures, says: "Technology that supports frontline workers is more important than ever. We have long believed that Beekeeper is setting the standard for how the modern frontline workforce operates and communicates, but the current crisis has given new urgency to the company's mission.
"Industries with largely desk-less workforces - like energy and manufacturing - are digitizing at an accelerating pace, and we believe this digital transformation is here to stay."
Beekeeper's platform is used by a number of large hotel groups, including Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group and Marriott International.
