So as the FairSearch campaign prepares to turn the entire world against Google, its members will be delighted to learn Mountain View is still trying to do no evil.
Or at least on Twitter.
A few sharp-eyed followers of the @googletravel Twitter account were perhaps surprised today to see the team retweeting an offer from the Expedia-owned Hotels.com.
This is the same Expedia, of course, which is part of the increasingly vociferous FairSearch lobbying group seemingly hell bent on stopping Google from completing its proposed acquisition of ITA Software.
Within the Google camp, a source says "beats me..." when asked about such wonderful promotion for Hotels.com.
But seeing theresultingchatter on Twitter, GoogleTravel responded with the following tweet.
Look out for a string of deals from Expedia, Kayak, Travelocity, Hotwire, TripAdvisor and Sidestep in the coming days, then. Maybe.
