- Destination pages ahoy for UK online travel agency Dealchecker. Users are able to use a map to drill down to specific information about locations around the world and get information about destination as well as latest deals provided by the site.
- Travel Leaders Corporate, a travel management company based in Coral Gables, Florida, released its Beacon mobile app for Android, Blackberry and iPhone. The TMC's clients can use the app regardless whether they use online booking tools. In addition to features such providing real-time itinerary updates; the ability to view past, present and future trips; and online check-in, Travel Leaders Corporate says the app is supported by flesh-and-blood travel agents working behind the scenes to re-accommodate travelers, when necessary.
- Vayant officially released its FastSearch system this week. The product is tipped as a sub-second search system for airfare shopping. The company is targeting online travel agencies, tour operators and others with a Pilot Program for potential users to test the service.
- SAP launched SAP Travel Expense Report apps on iOS and Blackberry platforms. The apps connect to the SAP ERP application and enable road warriors to insert expenses into expense reports, add attachments and submit the reports for approval. "Users can save time by adding corporate credit card charges or quickly taking a photo of a receipt to submit expenses with a few clicks directly from a restaurant," the company says.
- Omni Hotels properties in four US cities -- Fort Worth; San Diego; Washington, DC; and Pittsburgh plan to pilot GroupRev group- forecasting and -pricing software from Atlanta-based Rainmaker. The forecasting software for hotels and casinos with group business will connect to Rainmaker's GuestREV revenue management system at the four properties. However, Rainmaker says GroupREV can tie into any revenue management system.
