WaterPlay USA, a reservation system focused exclusively on water-based tours and activities, has announced a $400k seed round.
The company uses TourCMS as the tech underpinnings for the service, which the company claims is the largest platform for water-related tours in the United States.
According to the company, the investment "will accelerate WaterPlay USA’s growth in the nationwide travel activities market as well as increase its sales and customer support team."
The financing comes from local North Carolina-based travel tech executives, such as former Sabre Travel Network executive John Stow, and including Bill Spruill, founder of AddressDoctor.
In addition to the financing, John Stow has joined the company's Board of Directors.

The company's product is a software and reservations booking platform with hundreds of water-based offerings across the United States and the US Virgin Islands.
