Gone are the days when a technology firm like Amadeus or any of the other global distribution systems would appear at a handful of exhibitions or run print advertising in trade magazines.
Marketing such systems and other technology is clearly a different game, as this curious video ad from Amadeus demonstrates:

Clearly with a YouTube channel and - shock, horror - a blog also recently launched, social media is becoming an important channel for the likes of Amadeus et al.
Maybe we will see similar moves from Travelport and Sabre?
But, the question remains, why?
