Visitors to the US, UK and Spain have been warned that they at a greater threat of mobile security issues than any other countries in the world.
Analysis of mobile malware threats over the past year by Intel Security found that the US had the highest number of identified incidences with 4.8 million.
The UK came in second spot with 2.2 million threats and Spain mustered 1.7 million.
Intel found through a survey of 14,000 travellers worldwide that, at least for Brits, some 79% plan to connect to the web whilst on a trip, using a combination of laptops, mobile and tablet devices.
Still, smartphones are the connection of choice for travellers, with 32% claiming they would rather go without their laptops and tablet devices than a mobile phone.
Other country malware figures include:
- France - 695,000
- Poland - 475,000
- Canada - 399,000
- Italy - 395,000
- Portugal - 375,000
- The Netherlands - 330,000
