A trend for UK travel companies to announce they are taking social media seriously and appointing dedicated agencies to build a strategy continues with Teletext Holidays.
The TV-turned-online travel service has appointed I-Spy Marketing to develop and run a programme of initiatives across social media.
The relationship is being touted as a key one to spearhead Teletext's first venture in social media, although the reality is somewhat different as the company has had a fan page on Facebook for around two years.
Officials initially posted a few links to Teletext content elsewhere on the web and managed to attract over 100 fans - but the page has been dormant in terms of engaging with users and running content on the site.
I-Spy, which is also works with Viking Airlines and HRS, will also be tasked with launching and maintaining a Teletext blog, featuring travel guide-type content based around particular seasonal trends.
