MyRealTrip hopes to boost its platform to connect Koreans with destination experts and guides by raising $1 million in funding.
The round was led by SmileGate Ventures, with participation from Capstone Partners.
The Korea-based company (TLabs here), which targets both domestic and international Korean travellers, plans to use the investment to launch mobile apps and introduce a new service to cater for Chinese travellers.
The company's new service will enable Chinese guides to register in the system to serve Korean inbound and outbound travellers.
Minseo Baek, co-founder of myRealTrip, told Tnooz the company currently receives about 250 reservations per week, an eight-fold increase compared to May 2013.
Founded in February 2012, the company received a seed fund from Korean incubator Primer. In April 2013, myRealTrip raised additional funding amount of $400,000 from Korea-based venture firm, BonAngels.
