Expect to see folk with their heads down following their mobile device around a museum, train station or event venue in the coming weeks and months as Google Maps unveiled Indoor Maps yesterday.
So far they're available on Android devices at 40 UK venues (mostly in and around London) including Wembley, the O2, Selfridges and seven airports, although London Luton is claiming a first in the airport stakes.
The technology includes a 'where am I?' feature as well as showing what's around and providing directions.
Interestingly, any building owner can upload their internal blueprints for future inclusion in the technology.
Indoor Maps are also available at venues across Japan, Switzerland and the US including Las Vegas hotels and a number of airports and large department stores.
Google has also remembered to bring in some slightly unusual cultural references into the project.
The mythical platform 9 and three-quarters, made famous by way of the Harry Potter books and films, has found itself into the indoor map for Kings Cross station in London.
