Momondo reckons it's stepping metasearch up a gear with a flight rating system which aims to strike a balance between price and duration.
The Cheapflights-owned price comparison service talked about delivering what it called a 'convenience balancer' back in June as a first step towards a semantic search engine.
Based on the principle that the best flight is not necessarily the cheapest, the technology provides users with a score from zero to 10 for the balance between price and duration.
The rating system also enables them to edit their search according to their trip priorities.
The launch of the flight rating facility is part of a website redesign as well as Momondo's wider strategy to incorporate data based on consumer online behaviour to return better search results.
