Corporate travel and expense management specialist KDS has hopes of 'mass adoption' for its latest development, Project Neo, which will be released next year.
The technology, in beta with travel management companies and customers, reduces the search, book and expense process to three screens from the current process of more than three times that.
It is designed to enable users to book a door-to-door trip based on destination and desired time of arrival information and using devices such as iPads.
The technology then presents a small set of results within a two-hour window - flights, hotels, taxis and prices - with corporate policy and traveller preferences taken into account.
Travellers can change any of the elements and the whole trip will be updated.
KDS product marketing boss Oliver Quayle says:

"We think it's the killer app for the business user because it uses the minimum amount of information to highlight the most cost effective option in the shortest time."
He adds that while most booking systems have not been developed with the end user in mind, KDS started Neo with the aim of being better than consumer tools on the market.
KDS is also developing its Maverick system for release later this year and aimed at curbing rogue spend. For un-managed travel the technology can deliver best practice messages and budget limits as well as automatically populate the expense report.
Corporates with a strict policy can use Maverick to notify travellers they are out of policy and might not be reimbursed. The technology also gathers management information to enable companies to assess the impact.
