While travel brands are offering discounts and other value-adds to lure travellers this holiday season, others have taken the chance to offer free travel and hopefully generate some goodwill.
JetBlue has joined the latter through its #FlyItForward initiative where it offered free flights for few lucky people who were planning to visit their family and friends this Christmas.
The airline scanned the "rideshare" section in Craigslist to find the list of people who were looking for a car ride.
Then the company reached out to selected few via a Skype call and offered them a free ride on air instead of land. Certainly it look sometime for the travellers to comprehend the offer from JetBlue.
Recently, the Canadian low cost carrier WestJet created a viral campaign where it surprised its passengers by offering gifts that they asked, but the style of execution made this campaign go viral and create a social media (positive) impact for the brand.
