Trifork has acquired VION AI, adding real-time operational intelligence to its aviation software business.
The deal adds VION AI’s tools for tracking and analyzing activity on the ground during aircraft turnarounds. Trifork plans to fold that technology into its iFly4 platform, which is used by airlines and airports to manage operations and passenger service.
The companies said the combination is intended to give airlines a clearer view of what is happening during airport operations and help them respond more quickly when delays begin to build.
According to Kristian Dollerup, Trifork’s head of aviation, the acquisition is aimed at giving airlines more usable operational data from frontline teams and improving how turn operations are managed across airport networks.
Trifork CEO Jørn Larsen said, “VION AI brings cutting-edge technology, a smart way to use and train AI and a deep understanding of aviation operations. Combined with Trifork’s platforms and global reach, we see strong synergies that will accelerate innovation and create immediate value for our customers.”
Trifork said it expects to complete core integration work within about six weeks, with deployment to follow. The company said the acquisition is not expected to have a material effect on revenue or earnings this year.
The acquisition comes as airlines face increased pressure to implement artificial intelligence (AI)-powered solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer service, manage pricing and anticipate disruptions.
