In Asia, China has been attracting media and business attention for its massive outbound travel market, but the country that has got the travellers (online) attention is the land of rising sun - Japan.
Japan will be one of the slowest growing online travel markets in APAC in the next several years, according to PhoCusWright. But the country is certainly the most viewed destination in Google Street View in Asia.
Google says in a blog post:

"Asia’s getting a larger slice of the world’s virtual tourism, with Japan emerging as Asia’s leader when it comes to online visitors. What’s surprising is how many sites that haven’t been popular offline became online hits."

Among the top nine Street View locations in Asia, seven locations are in Japan. The other two locations are Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, and Jiou Fen Old Street, Taiwan.
