Always connected traveller... Multi-device strategy... Omni-channel retailing... Fancy phrases to explain the fact that we just don't use a computer on its own any more and hotels need to think about it carefully.
For example, a user might starting researching a destination on their mobile whilst commuting to work.
They then use a laptop or desktop to get prices. Perhaps show a partner or friends later on via a tablet and then make the booking the following day back at work.
Or, of course, a completely different combination.
The point is that if a hotel is not thinking about the UEX across multiple devices, where to target consumers with advertising, and the booking flow, then they might face some issues in the new future.
Digital hospitality firm Leonardo has pulled together quite a handy chart to illustrate the mind-bending number of options and considerations as part of this new(ish) world that hotels are now operating in.
