Google Maps may be upgraded to add multi-modal search and live flight data, in a move that could out-Rome2Rio Rome2Rio, according to a scoop by blog DroidLife.
Tnooz can confirm that we saw the same screenshots and a short video about the new service this morning by visiting this link.
Google has been widely expected to launch an intensive revamp of its Maps tool at its I/O developer conference this week.
Check out the screenshots below, and judge for yourself...
In the screenshots, promotional materials describe Google Maps as getting better with use:

As you search the map, star places you like and leave reviews. The map starts to adapt and can suggest things like restaurants you might enjoy or the quickest way home.
In other words, the more you use Google Maps, the more helpful it becomes.
The search box for Maps will trawl through a broader set of data, including destinations, ratings, reviews, and buildings that have volunteered to have their interiors mapped.
It's a move that could launch a thousand startup pivots, and cause hundreds of thousands of attractions to try to encourage their customers to star and review their locations on Google Maps.
One design detail to note: The sidebar will disappear, according to the screenshots.
