Many tourism organizations across the globe and travel suppliers are making an extra effort to offer their services in the best way possible to Chinese tourists.
They should do, with China expected to supply the largest outbound tourist market on the planet over the course of the next few years.
HotelRez Hotels & Resorts has published a set of recommendations for hoteliers to cater for this influx of Chinese travellers, essentially a list of dos and donts of what any property should be considering.
Alongside obvious elements such as having Mandarin-speaking staff where possible, there are some critical parts around technology.
Whilst Western hotel guests might reluctantly end up paying for wifi at a property, Chinese travellers consider it a right and expect it to be free.
There are also issues around payment options online and other web services.
