Hotel distributor GTA has expanded network of services with the acquisition of fellow provider MTS Globe, with a view to growing its beach, city and long-haul destinations.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
MTS is a specialist in European inbound travel and operates in 15 countries around the world, with a range of services such as OTS Globe (hotel trading) and Axis Data (IT platforms).
The company's existing management team and network will continue to operate under the MTS Globe brand.
The acquisition is being touted as a means for GTA to further its expertise in the beach destination area of expertise.
Ivan Walter, CEO of GTA, says:

"MTS Globe’s large portfolio in the Mediterranean beach destinations ideally complements GTA’s global accommodation and destination services offering.
"GTA will become a one-stop shop for city and beach products worldwide and the increased portfolio will mean our customers can offer greater choice to travellers."
The decision to grow the B2B end of the business comes nine months after GTA split from its Kuoni tour operating business to focus solely on distribution services.
GTA was sold by Travelport to Kuoni for $720 million in 2011.
