Facebook has marked a significant milestone in its company history, logging over 2 million advertisers on Facebook for the first time. The bulk of these advertisers are small businesses, and the company published a video and blog post celebrating the hard work and dedication of these business owners in "creating jobs and opportunities in [the] community and moving the entire world forward."
The company is celebrating this moment with a new mobile app native to iOS. This follows the platform's successful shift to mobile for its users and will allow for increased flexibility for brands creating Facebook ads. The new app is particularly useful for creating ads, as the primary means of photography for most Facebook Page owners is the mobile phone.
After downloading the app, ads can be created and edited on the mobile phone. This includes geographic targeting and other parts of the ad experience, as well as all billing and spending information.
The online Ads Manager is often criticized for being clunky and confusing, leading many advertisers to seek other venues for ad spending — or worse, to have ads that are barely monitored and wasting valuable resources. The interface is actually much more intuitive on mobile and makes for a better overall experience that will likely increase advertiser engagement and overall spend.
The post announcing both the 2 million mark and iPhone app continues the narrative of Facebook supporting the growth of the world's small businesses:

And there are more than two million other inspiring stories of people working to grow their businesses. You’re creating jobs, sharing new ideas and inspiring all of us to dream big.
Our mission is to make the world more open and connected, and an important part of that is helping people connect with businesses. Today, we want to express our thanks to you and all of our advertising partners — 2 million strong and growing every day.
The app is available for download in the U.S. for iOS here, and will soon be launching worldwide on other platforms.
