Hospitality technology startup Bbot has raised $15 million in a Series A round.
The investment was led by CRV and will enable the company to continue building its order and payments platform as well as help external developers use the technology via a Bbot app store.
The Series A funding comes on top of $4 million in seed funding announced by Bbot in late January.
At the time the company said the funding would go toward recruitment and developing its API.
The company says it has raised a total of just over $22 million to date.
Steve Simoni, CEO and co-founder of Bbot, says: "The way guests want to order and pay has changed forever, and the need for innovative technology that can help business owners compete in today’s digital world affordably and easily is crucial."
According to the company, Bbot has added more than 700 customers in the past year and grown its team to 85 employees.
The investment will help Bbot develop its platform according to customer needs including new point of sale and loyalty functionality.
Reid Christian, general partner, CRV, says: "Bbot has unique insight into the rapidly changing hospitality industry. Their vision expands beyond the traditional POS industry, into a fully integrated software and payments platform enabling order and pay for the first time.
"With this latest round, Bbot will deepen its talented bench with key hires and provide additional product enhancements to support the rapidly growing customer base."
