American Airlines and British Airways, taking advantage of their new commercial cooperation, opened a joint Admirals Club lounge at Denver International Airport.
The two airlines, along with Iberia, entered into an agreement to cooperate commercially, share revenue and coordinate networks, and the lounge in Denver is the first one American and BA have opened jointly.
It is located in Terminal A, where American and British Airways operate. Previously, the Admirals Club Lounge had been located in Terminal C.
The 5,115-foot square space (that's about 1559 square meters) features open seating for 124 travelers, a cellphone-free zone for the communication weary, and a business center for workaholics. A Cyber Cafe is equipped with HP TouchSmart PCs and flat-panel TVs.
There's free Wi-Fi for Admirals Club members [it's $350 to $500 to join for the previously uninitiated]; One-Day Pass holders; American, British Airways and Iberia oneworld members who have at least one leg of their trip on Iberia or British Airways; and American Airlines international passengers with a full-fare First or Business Class ticket.
Other guests would have to purchase a T-Mobile subscription to access Wi-Fi in the lounge.
One-Day Passes to use the lounge can be purchased for $50 online, at self-service check-in kiosks or at Admirals Club lounges.
American operates more than 40 Admirals Club lounges, including a recently renovated facility at London Heathrow.
