With the film festival in Cannes now in full swing, Air France has found a fun way of celebrating the annual extravaganza and also get Facebook fans involved.
Over the course of the event, probably the most high profile of the annual film festivals and competitions around the world, Air France is asking the 330,000-odd fans on its Facebook page to pick their favourite movie of the past ten years.
Fans can choose from 20 French and international flicks including Renaissance, L'Homme du Train, San Antonio, Avatar, Lord of the Rings and Brokeback Mountain.
But as well winning free flights for a randomly selected user that takes part, Air France will be ensuring four most popular movies selected by fans will be included on its long haul flights in September.
Nice idea to capture the buzz around the film festival but also draw more attention to the airline's Facebook presence.
Air France has made considerable efforts in the past year to boost its social media presence, especially on Facebook. Customers can search flights, read destination guides and watch dozens of company and user videos.
Most importantly, Air France interacts with fans regularly to answer questions and help with problems.
