Many of the predictions at the beginning of 2011 concentrated on three key issues affecting the travel industry - merchandising, growth of social commerce and rapid developments in mobile.
But six months is a long time in any industry, but especially in travel, tourism and hospitality, where legal shenanigans, regular launches of new social tools or the creation of mobile functionality or devices can throw even the best planned out strategy to take a different route.
Tnooz and Amadeus joined forces this week to take a half year health check on some of those big issues, bringing together a panel of experts to discuss how 2011 is playing out so far and where it might be heading.
