With the financial markets in flux, what is the current fundraising landscape for travel startups?
According to investors speaking at Phocuswright Europe in Amsterdam this week, startups in travel are in good shape – and coming out stronger than pre-pandemic.
Although the COVID-19 crisis has brought about its fair share of challenges, new opportunities have become available, which investors have capitalized on.
Particularly, the B2B segment in travel looks promising compared to new B2C brands, which don’t have the same level of financing available, investors say.
Speaking on the panel was Suzanna Chiu, head of Amadeus Ventures, Amadeus IT Group S.A.; Christian Saller, general partner, HV Capital; and Christoph Schuh, partner, Lakestar.
The full session, moderated by Phocuswright senior vice president of research and product strategy Charuta Fadnis, is below.
