COVID has stimulated interest in road trips
and camping in markets around the world, and now yet another startup is hoping
to serve those travelers in the United Kingdom and Europe with digital
solutions.
HolidayFox, a London-based startup founded in
2020, has raised £1.17 million in pre-seed funding.
Fuel Ventures led the round, with participation
from entrepreneurs Michael and Xochi Birch, Redbus Group, the Atomico Angel
Fund, D Global Ventures, Shaan Puri and Cathexis Ventures as well as a number
of angel investors.
“So many people now want to be outdoors, get
back to nature, experience something new and have a more eco-friendly and
unique holiday,” says Jason Green, HolidayFox co-founder.

“I’ve been camping and campervanning for many
years, but always found the process of finding and booking a campsite for
exactly what I wanted really difficult. We knew it was a problem that we could
solve - and it was the right time to do it.”
HolidayFox includes a search platform that
allows users to find a campsite based on amenities, features, onsite or nearby
activities and personal preferences.
Campsite owners can also use HolidayFox to market
their properties and take bookings.
The company says it will use the funding to expand
its engineering and operations teams to continue to develop the platform across
the U.K. and major European countries.
Other startups in this space include Ireland-based Campsited, which in March raised €600,000, and Netherlands-based JetCamp.
