- Tourism Australia is opening up aboriginal culture, tours and experiences via a new website. The new site suggests how to connect with aboriginal guides and provides information on destinations, workshops and way of life.
- TripIt began offering users personalized hotel recommendations based on past trips and preferences, with the hotel inventory sourced through its parent company's Concur Travel. TripIt Pro users also get their rewards programs factored into the recommendations. In addition, TripIt users will see nearby daily deals offers for dining events and nightlife sourced from Yipit.
- Avis has extended its range of online destination guides which aim to help travel agents sell car-hire by highlighting places of interest. Guides also feature live information such as weather as well as interactive maps and details of local events and activities.
- The Tourism Authority of Thailand has unveiled a new YouTube channel called ThailandReunited. The channel features 26 high-definition films about the destination. The organisation has also launched a Facebook campaign called aMAYzing Movie Month with short clips posted on the social network to drive traffic to the YouTube films and raise awareness of the destination.
- Caribbean Apps has developed a travel guide application featuring information on where to stay, activities and attractions. The app also features tips from locals, an events and an augmented reality feature to highlight local restaurants and sights. Aruba Tourism Authority is planning to release its own app shortly.
