- Hyatt Hotels Corporation is to extend its new in-room entertainment system to up to 60,000 rooms in the US, Canada and the Caribbean within the next two years. The Roomlinx technology, which has already been deployed in 1,800 rooms, allows guests to browse favourite services on the web such as Facebook, YouTube and Netflix, manage and print documents and order room service.
- London City Airport is the second location to get new British Airways-led bag tagging technology. The self-service system lets passengers on BA print and attach tags on their own luggage before heading to a bag-drop desk. The decision to introduce the service follows a trial of self-bag tagging at London Gatwick late-2011.
- US-based deals brands TripAlertz added a Double-The-Difference element to its service this week. The Airfare Guarantee works by giving customers a refund and the same again if a traveller finds a lower rate elsewhere.
