Eviivo has vowed to carry on its pricing and availability polling service to tourist boards and other businesses affected by VisitEngland's decision to end 'financial and operational support' for the EnglandNet platform.
According to VisitEngland's most recent statement, consumers will still be able to carry out product searches on its consumer websites via the EnglandNet system for the time-being.
Eviivo provided the search and booking technology for EnglandNet, which was devised 10 years ago as a tourism products database with live availability and booking functionality.
VisitEngland announced withdrawal of funding for the platform in April because of a 34% cut in budget imposed by the Government over four years and said services would terminate at the end of September.
According to the statement VisitEngland also took into account the volume of product now promoted through private sector search and booking services.
It was initially believed that both the product search functionality and the polling service would be withdrawn from websites.
Eviivo has confirmed it will continue supporting the search capability until the end of March 2012 while VisitEngland reviews its options.
Eviivo is also continuing to power search and booking for sites such as Cotswolds tourism and VisitWales as well as talking to other public and private sector enterprises who have licensed the technology.
