Last minute mobile-based hotel booking service VeryLastRoom has raised $2.1 million funding led by french venture capitalist APlusFinance, and Extend & Sigma Gestion.
In May 2013, the France-based company raised $550,000 in an angel round, taking the total investment amount to $2.65 million.
VeryLastRoom (TLabs here) is planning to use this fund to double its team size to 16 people in the next three months.
The company provides mobile-only (iOS app, Android app) same day last minute hotels deals in France and Spain where it has more than 1,200 hotel partners.
It says in the funding announcement:

"(We're) now in good position to become a key player on a last-minute hotel market estimated at $28 billion in Europe."
Founded in late 2011 (launched in June 2012) by Nicolas Salin & Sebastien Houzé, the company estimates that the app will be downloaded a million times by the end of 2014.
Competitors of VeryLastRoom in Europe include HotelTonight and Hot Hotels.
In January 2014, the luxury flash sales site Secret Escapesacquired Germany-based same day hotel booking service JustBook (TLabs here).
In September 2013, Spain-based last minute hotel booking service Hot Hotels acquired its local competitor ReallyLateBooking.
Other two big recent developments in this sector include: HotelTonight’s Series D round of $45 million, and Grouponbuying Europe-based last minute hotel booking provider Blink.
