Tripgrid has ex-HomeAway for CTO
- Tim Tischler joins the US-based travel organising startup as chief technology officer, coming in from Review Financial where he was an IT architect. He has previous stints under his belt at Kaleo, Nike and HomeAway.
Wednesday 26 October 2016:Cendyn has added three names to its executive team
- The cloud-based hospitality software and services company has hired Bryan Happ as chief financial officer, Michael Bennett as senior vice president global marketing and business development, and David Kidd as vice president of product management.
Monday 24 October 2016:ARC has the info
- The air travel intelligence and tech service has recruited Dickie Oliver as its new vice president and chief information officer. He joins from Restaurant Supply Chains Solutions, where he VP of business technology. Yum Brands, PowerCerv and DuPont are also previous employers.
Lyft adds two execs
- Rajil Kapoor has joined Lyft as chief strategy officer, while Melissa Waters becomes its vice president of marketing. Kapoor worked for investment firm Mayfield when it led Lyft's $6m Series A round in 2011. Waters' joins from music discovery service Pandora.
Friday 21 October 2016:Sabre gets a CCO for Travel Network
- Alfredo de Cardenas will become chief commercial officer for the GDS division of Sabre, based at its HQ in Texas, US. He joins from Syniverse Technologies where he held a variety of roles including president of sales and president of enterprise and intelligence solutions. Prior to that he had a seven-year career at Nortel Networks.
Thursday 20 October 2016:Klein takes the chair at Brand USA
- Tom Klein, Sabre president and CEO, is succeeding Marriott International's Arne Sorenson as chairman of destination marketing organisation Brand USA. Klein steps up from his current position as vice chairman.
Conxxe targets partners in APAC
- The airport transfer technology provider has hired Chris Mulcairn to become head of partnerships in the region, joining from Tiger Airways where he was ancillary revenue manager. He was previously a commercial deals manager and business analyst at British Airways.
Monday 17 October:BookingPal builds multi-unit team
- B2B vacation rental tech firm BookingPal has appointed three former LeisureLink employees to form a new team for multi-property and timeshare managers. Lauren Smith-Flaugher, who managed East Coast and Caribbean for LL, and Pamela Graves-Longley, who worked on mountain and ski, become regional directors. Vanessa Moore was director of national accounts and joins BookingPal as consultant.

Onyx appoints chief product officer
- Hospitality tech veteran Bill Nicholson has been named as executive vice president and chief product officer for Onyx CentreSource (formerly Onyx Payments). Nicholson's CV highlights include founding partner at Pegasus, early involvement with HomeAway and the first president and general manager at SynXis, now Sabre Hospitality Solutions.
Thursday 13 October 2016:Rocketrip hires finance boss
- Larry White joins the corporate travel IT platform as vice president of finance, joining from Peloton Cycle where he held a similar position. He was previously VP of finance at DigitalOcean and Makerbot Industries.
Wednesday 12 October 2016:Datalex has tapped Blair Koch to be its Chief Technology Officer and President of its US division
- The Dublin-based technology firm that runs the software of many airline reservation platforms has hired Blair Koch to be CTO. Koch was recently VP, Technology & Integration at JetBlue Airways, and before that, Managing Director IT for United Airlines. Datalex says it is adding 100 positions in Ireland.
Egencia exec overhaul
- The Expedia Inc-owned corporate travel agency has two major changes, including the move of Christophe Peymirat to chief commercial officer and Mark Hollyhead to chief operating officer. They previously were heading the company's business in Europe and Americas respectively.
Friday 7 October 2016:Sabre opens regional HQ in Uruguay
- The Latin America HQ for Sabre will be in the Uruguayan city of Montevideo, headed by recently appointed vice president for the region and the Caribbean, Ricardo Carreon. He was previously general manager for the same geographic area for NCR Corporation, with earlier positions at Intel and Novell.
Wednesday 5 October 2016:Knowcross expands operations
- The hotel intelligence IT provider has recently expanded and relocated its London, UK, office as it looks to grow its European business. Similar efforts are being made in Asia-Pacific, where Knowcross will open a Singapore base this month.
TRVL hires industry veteran
- Arthur Hoffman joins the trip planning service as its chief operating officer, having spent the past two years at Sanoma. Hoffman had a string of jobs at Expedia between 2004 and 2014, including president of Expedia Affiliate Network and managing director of the company in Asia-Pacific.*
Tuesday 4 October 2016:FastBooking MD for France and Northern Europe
- Eric Peyrard will oversee operations for the hotel technology company in the region, having joined in June this year. He was previously chief operating officer for AvailPro between May 2010 and October 2015, with previous stints at GE Commercial Finance and Mandriva.
