TripAdvisor wants to make it easier for hotels and other services to get reviews, with a major upgrade to its Facebook widget.
The system was originally launched in December 2012 as module which could be plugged into a hotel, restaurant or attraction's Facebook page to displayed its associated reviews.
The new version, released in-late June this year, allows fans of a product to post their reviews from within the Facebook page of the business without the need to visit the main TripAdvisor site.
The update was automatic for any business which had already installed the application on their respective Facebook page.
The idea behind the move is to smooth the process for users to get their reviews of a product online from within the source page of the brand, as well as view other reviews and additional information about a service.
Category ratings, awards and images via TripAdvisor are automatically fed into the widget.
TripAdvisor says any reviews which are left by users on the Facebook app are screened and posted to the main via the same process as elsewhere, such as the main TripAdvisor site.
