Travelport appears to be popping the champagne after just five weeks since the relaunch of its Travelport Leisure hotel portal for travel agents.
The company claims the Travelport Leisure attracted around 25,000 visits by the end of June 2010, leading it to appoint a dedicated business development manager for the division in the shape of Theresa Campbell, who has been with Travelport for five years (no other details provided).
The portal is a web-based gateway to hotel and hostel product from a string of partners and a major upgrade to an old system powered by sister brand GTA.
Suppliers include Kuoni, Hostelworld, GTA and HotelClub although in the new incarnation the system switches suppliers depending on the location of the agent.
The system was due to be rolled out simultaneously across all markets at launch but Travelport now says 62 countries (including the US, Brazil, China, New Zealand and Spain) will get access over the course of the next month alongside those already plugged in.
