TECH SAVVY
This summer, TripAdvisor deployed on Amazon Web Services a complete, running version of a production site processing 700k HTTP requests per minute. The company has listed its technical and budgeting lessons learned in a blog post.
TripAdvisor points out it is "not (yet?) prepared to flip over the DNS and send all traffic through AWS." But it found the test was informative.
FlightStats and masFlight form a partnership. To quote the press release, FlightStats’ real-time, global operational flight and airport data will be integrated into masFlight’s analysis platform for airlines and airports worldwide to track real-time performance of their operations.
DISTRIBUTION
Hostelworld.com scores a partnership with VisitBritiain. Rolling out in 2013, TV advertising in Germany will tout Britain as a destination by using the wide network of accommodation available on "the number-one hostel booking website."

Flight Centre-owned, Ireland-based firm FCm Travel Solutions won Europe’s Leading Travel Management Company at the World Travel Awards 2012.
MORE TRAVEL TECH
