HTML5 is the next major revision of the HTML standard. Like its immediate predecessors, HTML5 is a standard for structuring and presenting content on the web.
Here is a quick quide:
1.
HTML is a standard for structuring and presenting content on the web. HTML5 is being developed by World Wide Web Consortium (WC3), the main international standards organization for the web and is the next major revision of the HTML standard.
2.
HTML5 offers some fantastic opportunities for mobile web applications; in fact right now HTML5 is more widely deployed on the mobile web than it is on the PC web.
3.
Instead of writing separate applications for each mobile device developers can deploy the same code base on all HTML5-ready phones and devices.
4.
Apps are increasingly popular but not everyone wants to install an on-device app. HTML5 provides a true iPhone and Android App experience via the mobile web browser
5.
MTT has developed the first airline HTML5 app for S7 Airlines. The App is available as a downloadable iPhone App or an HTML5 App by simply accessing s7.ru from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
6.
HTML5 incorporates features like video playback that have been previously dependent on third-party browser plug-ins such as Adobe Flash or Microsoft Silverlight.
7.
Location. Location. Location. Location capabilities are changing the way people interact with web sites and services. With HTML5, the browser has the ability to access the device’s geographical location without the need to install an application on the device.
8.
HTML5 allows for on device data storage. Think super cookies! The ability to store lots of information about a site or service on the device speeds up the browsing experience.
9.
The improvements in HTML5 for forms make for faster and easier web and mobile applications. Fields that can be validated by the browser means less time downloading JavaScript code and fewer round trips to the server.
10.
With HTML5 every element on a page can be dragged and dropped. As touch screens become ubiquitous, drag and drop plays a huge role in web application usability.
