Smartphones are going to be around for quite a while, even according to one of Nike's leading wearable technology evangelists.
Synapse vice president of technology, Skooks Pong, who previously also worked on Microsoft's SPOT watches, questions the capability devices such as smartwatches have compared to their mobile counterparts.
"The wearables don’t have enough power to do what a smartphone does today," Pong says.
"You think about your iPhone or your Samsung Galaxy, you think about the type of content and what you do with that, I just don’t see it happening in the next several years on your wrist."
