Priceline has unveiled a pay-per-click service enabling hotels to target potential guests at the time of purchase.
Priceline Sponsored Listings uses HookLogic's technology and analytics platform to enable hotels to bid for position in search results and measure the impact of campaigns.
Hotels can customise listings with specific messages targeting different customer types using demographics, length of stay, advance purchase windows and other data.
The sponsored listings service also enables hotels to adjust or stop campaigns at any point and manage spend on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
Priceline's service launches at an interesting time with TripAdvisor Connect also expected to go live this month. TripAdvisor Connect enables all business listings hotels to participate in metasearch.
Previously only OTAs, hotel groups and aggregators were able to get involved with TripAdvisor's metasearch service.
