Google has issued an update to its Glass software so users are able to receive notifications for hotel bookings and reservations for restaurants and activities.
The addition of the Google Now cards is another small step towards improving the hardware's overall value for travellers beyond just being a quirky piece of technology.
Also, users can also find traffic conditions and alternate route options in the latest update. Other updates to Google Now includes weather and movie information.
In addition to the card updates, Google has also added some voice commands:
- "Post an update" - to post content to Path, a social network
- "Take a note" - to sync notes with Evernote
Below is a video that Google has released in which Google Glass team shows how navigation/direction feature works in Google Glass.
Quite a few Google Glass feature-simulations have been developed by various brands in travel, including JetBlue's take on how useful Glass will be in airports, and TourismRadio's look at how Glass could used as a tour guide (video simulation below), a project which has now become part of the Kickstarter programme.
