Amadeus and Forward Data have put their heads together on some analysis of travel behaviour around the Rugby World Cup which kicks off on 9 September.
Using business intelligence tool Forward Keys to analyse GDS flight bookings made up to 26 August, the figures show inbound tourism to New Zealand will increase more than 25% during the world cup when compared to the same period in 2010.
Amadeus and Forward Data partnered to create Forward Keys last November.
The largest contributors to the tourism influx are fans from Australia, UK, France and South Africa.
Arrivals from the US are the only number to decrease over the period - down more than 11% compared to the same period last year.
The figures also show positive thinking from South African fans with almost half choosing to travel in the final stages of the tournament.
