Trip planning and sharing app Hitlist has released a new version of its service with an improved user experience and better navigation.
From a service that has grown from a startup weekend and a THack, Hitlist says it is now driving more than 50,000 leads per month to partners, with 18% conversion to the final booking page.
Hitlist founder Gillian Morris says user acquisition is predominantly through referral and App Store features and the site has not invested in marketing so far.
Morris believes the app is converting better on mobile than other larger players in the market and attributes it to the fact that Hitlist's "only curates deals it already considers good."
The latest release of the site aims to improve user experience has well as increase conversion further.
For example, user-generated trips are now part of the mix. The trips put together by Hitlist curators in a previous version increased click-through rates in-app by 70%.
Further enhancements in the latest release include:
- the menu has moved from the side to the bottom.
- a new trip planner enabling users to save filters, share plans and invite other users as well as recruit new users.
- in V3, the social graph, originally built on Facebook, enables users to find and follow people independently of the social network.
