Expedia has teamed up with the Department of Culture in Malmo in Sweden, to create a Streetview-style tour of one of the region's most prestigious landmarks.
But rather than copying some of the usual walkabouts of a landmark, a visit to the Malmohus Castle on the Expedia website includes an audio guide and other interactive elements.
Users are able to move around the castle (including areas that are usually closed to the public, such as the dungeons and shooting gallery), stop to listen to a description or zoom in on a particular piece of artwork.
The castle is famous for being a Danish mint and royal palace to becoming a Swedish corrective prison, safe haven for Nazi concentration camp survivors and now a museum.
Other landmarks are to be added in the coming months, with the platform also being integrated on other Expedia sites, such as the UK and US.
