About a year ago travel inspiration app Epiclist called time after three years of development citing lack of funds and being unable to build a sustainable business model.
It seems all is not lost however as outdoor brand VAUDE is taking over the iPhone app and will use it to bring tips and information to its users on outdoor activities.
It's an interesting end to the tale and VAUDE head of online marketing Manfred Meindl believes the app will enable it to maintain engagement with its customers by helping them to discover and plan trips as well as share their experiences.
Epiclist’s founders provide some more information to the app’s community and users on the acquisition and plans here.
A statement from VAUDE says more than 13,000 travel experiences including photos, locations and plans are already on Epiclist, posted by the community.
Most of the original team has now moved on although co-founder Olga Remgein has been on hand during the hand over process.
Epiclist was developed over three years and received investment and support from Glispa chief Gary Lin, angel investors and StartupChile and StartupWiseGuys.
