Talk about clever cross-promotion and product placement between Disney and American Airlines.
In Disney's 3D computer-animated movie "Planes," which debuts in the US on August 9, the character Tripp (in the shape of a 777-300ER) wears the airline's new logo and livery.
Meanwhile, American will get to show the movie in-flight a month earlier than other airlines can -- one of several cross-promotional efforts.

Here's a trailer for the movie itself, which is about a humble dust cropper plane that wants to soar but is afraid of heights.
