Delta links with LinkedIn for a class in innovation
- The US-based carrier inked the deal with the business social network as part of its sponsorship of the latest TED conference, giving what it calls the chance "to connect today's high-profile influencers with the business leaders of tomorrow at 35,000 feet". The Innovation Class project works by connecting people from different areas of business on a designated flight. Interested participants can apply via the carrier's website.
Momondo unveils Friend Compass for finding fares
- The European metasearch engine - claiming an "industry first" - has integrated the compass into its iPhone and Android applications so users can discover in which direction friends live (via Facebook location), who lives in certain types of destinations and who are the cheapest or most expensive to visit.
Wednesday 5 March 2014:Adioso flies you to your friends
- The new feature on the flight search engine allows users to select different "friends" on Facebook and then work out fares and schedules from their departure point. Once selected, Adioso's free-text search tool can be used to throw queries into the site. For example: "Chicago to my friends in USA any weekend for under $500."
