Bringing existing search and booking to the Apple iPad has seemingly opened up a world of opportunity to simply improve the user experience.
In fact, if the search and booking experience was better, travel websites would perhaps have better conversion rates. That's the wider argument.
So the iPad is the perfect device to try and improve such wrinkles in the customer journey.
Or so says TravelTainment, the leisure travel technology provider within Amadeus.
The company has been working on a prototype for some months and is now starting to demo the concept to new and existing clients - especially at this week's Travel Technology Europe event in London.
The iPad app essentially does exactly the same as the existing TravelTainment leisure search and booking system but with all the UEX twists and tools that come with the iPad - plus, of course, a larger workspace for touch control, very similar to the system created by Kayak for its hotel search last year.
TravelTainment admits clients are banging on the development door asking for iPad applications for their systems - but the PR value and showcase of the technology in a far more accessible environment means
