SYSTEMS: It is probably easy for developers, engineers, data jockeys et al to be immersed in the day-to-day running of various systems and platforms that something as outer-worldly as bio-technology isn't important. But when scientists are on the verge of uncovering a revolutionary process, then it's time to stop and think for a minute. Read more on WSJ.
Imagine a technology that could transform the semiconductor and energy-storage business. If you transform those industries, you transform modern life.
Israel-based Store Dot is creating biological semiconductors that can, among other things, store a charge, emit visible light and be used to produce high-capacity, or quick-charging, batteries.
If everything works, Store Dot says, and it has a lot of evidence that it bio semiconductors will do, it predicts there will be a revolution in many devices - memory, batteries, displays and image sensors.
