Sourcing airfares for travel originating in one’s home market is not as big a challenge as accessing global airfares for travel originating in other countries.

For travel professionals whose business caters to travel originating from outside their home country, sourcing global airfares from varied source points requires major time and effort. This is the case if the inventory comes from the airline, a GDS or a third party provider.
And at each source and for each country professionals need to connect through an API to source the airfare content. Managing these huge number of APIs and sourcing content through them unnecessarily creates a burden and proves to be a costly and time consuming affair.
Hence, working with an API provider that connects and consolidates data from multiple sources and multiple countries, and then provides it through a single API integration, would be a smarter choice.
Rajeev Kumar, Founder, CEO and Managing Director of Mystifly says:

“While sourcing global airfares, look for a single API which is connected to multiple GDSs & non-GDS contents and which can provide access to the full GDS air content, low-cost carrier content and APTCO 25/35 fares”.
In addition, working with a API provider that gives you the ability to transact in multiple currencies will also help to stem currency exchange losses.
And an API provider which can provide 24 - 7, 365 days back office support is also desirable, in order to manage the global air ticketing requirements of TMCs and OTAs, factoring in not only different time zones but also different ticketing formats.
Today, most businesses are multi-device enabled, hence TMCs and OTAs should also look for an API that facilitates accessibility of content across multiple platforms so that they can publish standardised airfare options across all their channels.
