BookIt.com just made it easier for travelers to book hotel, flights, car rentals and vacation packages in one checkout session using PayPal.
PayPal Parallel Payments enable a consumer to purchase goods or services from multiple suppliers in a single checkout session and BookIt.com says it became the first online travel company to implement the feature.
With consumer confidence about online payments rocked following multiple hacking and data theft incidents around the Web, the PayPal Parallel Payments option may be attractive for some travelers booking full itineraries who are loathe to share their financial information.
PayPal says its Parallel Payments feature, which supports a maximum of 10 payments in one Express Checkout session, provides such security and shows both a summary of the travel information as well as itinerary details such as flight numbers and flight duration, for example.
PayPal provides details about implementing Parallel Payments here. Parallel Payments can be implemented using PayPal API 63.0 and up.
BookIt.co, based in Panama City Beach, Fla., provides its customers with a variety of other payment options, including BillMeLater.
