Video-sharing platform Vimeo tends to rise above the mass-market clutter of YouTube, showcasing digital short films of the finest quality.
The site regularly names its "staff picks" for the best videos. Sadly, the company's shortlist of 2013's best short films (across all categories) doesn't include any travel videos, according to a spokesperson.
But a look at the staff picks within the travel category specifically this year turns up some delightful finds.
The following dozen best travel short films of 2013 blow out of the water many of the (much more expensively made) promos shot for direct marketing organizations and online travel companies. They're all worth a look. Watch in Fullscreen and high-definition (HD) with sound for the best experience.
