All Nippon Airways selected Savvis to provide managed services for 90 of ANA's corporate websites and intranets, Savvis says.
Under the three-year agreement, Savvis will provide the airline's websites with managed hosting and security services.
Savvis claims its hosting services are differentiated to most of those in Japan, where it has a data center in Tokyo, because Savvis' offerings are based on service-level agreements tied to server availability.
Conventional hosting in Japan, Savvis says, usually comes with SLAs for data centers only.
The ANA Group previously managed its IT infrastructure services in-house, but the company says it opted for Savvis to reduce capital expenditures and operational costs, and because it also required scalability, increased availability and enhanced security.
