AirportAce this week became the latest application launched to help airline passengers as they navigate their way through airports around the world.
The app, built and most effective primarily for iPad but with an iPhone and iPod touch version in the appstore, was developed by on-the-road developer, Ryan Hartman.
AirportAce allows users to get information on 41 airports (mostly US, but including seven major international hubs) such as parking, amenities, rail, taxi and car hire.
In the appstore for just a few days, reviews have so far been extremely good from users.
The app includes information from Wikipedia about each airport as well as details on wireless hotspots in each lounge and departure area.
The entire application works without the need to connect to the web via an often bank account-draining data roaming connection.
But perhaps the most impressive feature is the terminal maps, as the demo below illustrates.

The idea of providing airport maps into a mobile system has grown quickly in recent months, with Point Inside recently extending its map app to a string of airports around the world.
